Another successful Fall Parade of Homes for Tahoe Homes

Tahoe Homes has a long tradition as being a participant in the BCA’s Fall Parade of Homes. This year, we were featured on the cover of the parade magazine, showcasing Mill Station in east Boise. We also had a SpurWing Greens full page ad facing the Parade Home Entries (a table of contents, of sorts). We had two parade homes at opposite ends of the valley, in an effort to reach or accommodate as many people as possible. Both homes were very similar in styling with sleek lines and contemporary interior finishes, though located in extraordinarily different neighborhoods. Our east Boise model, The Tilt, was located in Mill Station, east Boise’s new, trendy, cosmopolitan neighborhood in Barber Valley. And in west Meridian, we entered our Pebble Beach model in SpurWing Greens, the area’s premier country club community. Both homes on all six days of the Fall Parade event had over 100 guests, which rivals attendance numbers that we typically see during the Spring Parade of Homes (the BCA’s more popular event). In addition, both parade homes sold prior to the Parade opening day, which we attribute to the steady momentum of the local economy and the quality and craftsmanship that goes into every Tahoe home.

We’re thankful to build in Idaho – the 2nd state with the highest increase in home prices

There’s more evidence that the housing market is recovering, both on a national and state level. From July 2011 to July 2012, CoreLogic reports that U.S. home prices increased 3.8% nationally, which is the largest year-over-year rise in the past six years. Better yet, Idaho reports a full 10% gain during that same time. Arizona tops the national list with Idaho placing second, followed by Utah, South Dakota and Colorado rounding out the top five rankings. Our local MLS chapter, Intermountain Multiple Listing Service, anticipates that Idaho will stay at or near the 10% mark through the remainder of the year.

On a day-to-day level, we are seeing more contracts coming in and just an overall rise in our production. We’ve balanced the last four years better than some, but it’s great to be busy again! Our reputation of delivering quality homes at fair prices has undoubtedly contributed to our place in the market. We’re thankful for the incredible lifestyle Idaho offers. Our local economy offers many opportunities for business, and the recreational activities are almost endless. Fred Meyer at Eagle Island Marketplace is now open!

The long-awaited Fred Meyer at Chinden Blvd. and Linder Rd., opened for business on Friday, June 22 – with cheers all around! As the anchor for the new Eagle Island Marketplace, the store brings not only closer shopping for the residents of Eagle, Star and Meridian, but also “200 jobs,” according to the Idaho Business Review. The “environmentally sustainable” superstore boasts 175,000 square feet and over 225,000 products. Baskin Robbins 31 Flavors just opened their doors today, with a fun variety of summer flavors and smiles everywhere. Other businesses set to join Fred Meyer in the Eagle Island Marketplace include McDonald’s, Tip Top Nail Salon, and Great Clips. The new marketplace is positioned to make grocery, household and convenience shopping simple for nearby residents, especially those of Paramount, SpurWing, and SpurWing Greens.

About Fred Meyer: Ninety years ago, a man named Fred G. Meyer opened the first Fred Meyer store with the idea of “one-stop shopping” Since then, the Fred Meyer brand has expanded into a Northwestern United States chain.
