Tahoe Homes History

Over the course of just 12 years, Tahoe Homes has grown to become one of the Treasure Valley’s most respected homebuilders. Founded in 1995 by Jake Centers, an Idaho native whose construction industry experience stretches back 20 years, the company has always challenged industry norms and sought innovative ways to design and build homes that better meet the needs of homebuyers.

Early on, Jake implemented technology to schedule sub-contractors, maintain rigorous construction schedules and budgets, as well as communicate and collect feedback from clients. This approach—widely considered groundbreaking at the time—allowed Tahoe Homes to successfully adapt to the changing market and its changing customers.

As Tahoe Homes' reputation for quality and customer service grew, so did its business. By 2000, the company was building increasing numbers of homes in the area’s most sought-after communities, including Harris Ranch, Woodbridge, Heritage Commons, and Brookwood.

Today, Tahoe Homes is building on this success. Past clients are returning to buy their second or third Tahoe home. Current Tahoe homeowners are recommending Tahoe Homes to new clients. And, most importantly, Jake continues to listen to all of them in order to create the most livable homes in the Treasure Valley.
